The Pumpkin (and Squash and Gourd) Patch

This back forty part of the pumpkin
patch garden started when I
discovered, in my compost bin,
(An old metal garbage can that
I use for a compost pile if truth be told) a big
pile of growing sprouting pumpkin seeds.

Knowing that did not have the time or energy to individually
plant each any every one(there must have been 25+ or more)
I dug a hole and planted them  where I thought they might grow.

Low and behold
5 months later this is what the
pumpkin patch looks like today.
All from volunteer pumpkins seeds form last year's
harvest.

Woo Hoo.

If you are wondering why do all these
pumpkins have nets around them, it is  so
the critters do not eat them.
Which has happened BTW and which
has pissed me off in the past

AS If OCCUPY A GARDEN Wasn't Enough, Here Comes BACK TO EDEN ~~~The Farm

BACK TO EDEN shares the story of one man’s lifelong journey, walking with God and learning how to get back to the simple, productive methods of sustainable provision that were given to man in the garden of Eden. The organic growing system that has resulted from Paul Gautschi’s incredible experiences has garnered the interest of visitors from around the world. However, never until now have Paul’s methods been documented and shared like this!

There are others.

Similar to the Victory Gardens after World War 2 and the Great American Depression that almost every American household grew because they HAD to survive, BACK TO EDEN
gives us insight into what other people are thinking NOW at this juncture of American Gardening History.

Go ahead, bite that Big Apple.
Or make a pie out of it.
or apple sauce,
or apple crisp
or.......just take a picture of it.

OCCUPY THE SEED and HOW WE CAN EAT OUR LANDSCAPES

From the seed to the farm to the store to your table, corporations are seeking total control over biodiversity, land, and water. They are seeking control over how food is grown, processed, and distributed. And in seeking this total control, they are destroying the Earth’s ecological processes, our farmers, our health, and our freedoms.

Mis-Shapen Veggies From The Garden This Year

The Nose is Real,
The Mouth is Real
The eyes are not.
