Anytime a bird of a different color arrives in my neck of the woods, it's a thrill. This Indigio Bunting with it's bluer than blue feathers was a real treat to photograph. Feathered Friends with gay bright and vivid colors make the world a much more un-dull, more interesting place to be that's for sure. I like the little wren's that nobody would twice at and how they can belt out a tune like nobody's tomorrow, if the little wren's were vivid blue and belted out their tunes, now that's an Elton Johnlike bird worth imaging about.
..........And having a strong sense of the sarcastic and satirical sense of humor in the political sense of the word, I couldn't resist to add yet another politically incorrect statement to the bird food mix. Indigio Buntings are from South America by the way. They just pass through on their way to somewhere else.

A Day in The Life of A Mini Farmer aka Gardener someimes does not bring joy. It brings mother nature to ya up close and personal. Hence the reason for posting this photo. This robin fell out of it's nest. We had lots of rain lately and I suspect that may have been the reason he/she fell out.
Pretty soon I had so much Swiss Chard, I didn't know what to do with it all. I started putting Swiss Chard in everything. Swiss Chard Omelets, Angel Hair Pasta Mixed with Swiss Chard & Parmesan Cheese, Swiss Chard on my Pizza, Swiss Chard this and Swiss Chard that. I found Swiss Chard recipes online from people all over the country, making Swiss Chard their way, from their neck of the woods. There's even gourmet recipes for Swiss Chard to meet the more discriminating palate.
Salsify is also called goat's beard. The leaves are grass-like and the flower head is similar to dandelion but much larger. The seed head also resembles dandelion but again is much larger and on the gray side. A purple flowered species, Tragopogon porrifolius, is called oyster plant because the boiled roots are said to taste like oysters. The purple one is rare in New Jersey but the yellow one has become quite prevalent in recent years. A problem mostly in nurseries.
These Poofy Things Look Small, But They Are In Fact, Very Big. They resemble Nuked Dandelions In the Parachute Stage. Everyday One More Poofy Thing Opens Up To Where a Flowerhead Used to be
I know I should look up the name of this huge Dandelion type flower/poofy thing and call it what it is so I look like I know what I'm talking about, but for now I'm just calling it like I see it, I big Poofy Dandelion Thingy.
